Horden Station  opens on Monday next 29th June and will be a huge boost to a large area of County Durham that has no current access to the railway. A strange way to open a station, with us actively discouraging rail travel! Nonetheless it is correct that it opens, because it is the result of a great deal of investment and effort by a great number of organisations, not least Durham County Council and our friends from Network Rail, a good news story I think.
